Hats off to Healthy Harvest
David Hirth, owner of Healthy Harvest Gourmet Market and Cafe, didn’t miss a beat when I asked him if he’d like to participate in Luminaries Martin County Volunteer Recruitment Fair last Wednesday. But his participation was a bit different than the others: David provided delicious food and refreshing beverages to the representatives of the 30+ agencies who took part in our Fair. Quite a generous move by this community-minded small business owner, who was eager to show his appreciation to the organizations that help make the Treasure Coast a better place to live. We’re sure that everyone who snacked and sampled and tasted will be dedicated customers in the future. But we wanted to share this news with you, our loyal readers, so that you could show your appreciation to this hometown hero by patronizing his wonderful market at 1411 SE Indian Street, Stuart or visiting www.thehealthyharvest.com. They are not only a marvelous place to shop for the finest and freshest foods, but you can relax and enjoy breakfast, lunch or dinner in the Café. Thanks so much, David, you and your staff contributed greatly to the success of the day.
Michelle is swell
Michelle Radcliffe has been named the 2006-07 Kiwanian of the Year for her work with the Kiwanis Club of Stuart, a most prestiigious award. For her “real” job, Michelle serves as Director of Marketing and Membership for the Palm City Chamber of Commerce, but she truly does double-duty in a multitude of different capacities with Kiwanis. Congratulations, Michelle, on a well-deserved award.
Rotary rooters
The Rotary Club of Stuart recently hosted a beach clean-up at The House of Refuge, and clean up they did! Twenty-five bags of debris and three bags of recyclable items were collected by Rotarians, their spouses, RotaKids and many other environmentally concerned citizens of all ages. Sue Zachman tells Star Tracks that the turnout and enthusiasm were wonderful. Thanks to everyone who pitched in to make things clean and sprakly around the House of Refuge.
The real Pioneers
To clarify the name of the wonderful group of people who have been so supportive of the Betcher Scholarship Fund, it is the Stuart Telephone Pioneers, not the Stuart Pionerrs, as had been mentioned in a previous item in Luminaries.
A passion for fashion
The always fashionable and fabulous members of the Stuart Womans Club will host a Fall Fashion Show & Luncheon at 11:30 a.m. on Nov. 27 at the Club’s headquarters at 729 East Ocean Boulevard. This is the time of year that social calendars start to fill up quickly and we don’t want you to miss out on the fun, bargains and spirit at this always-popular event. Tickets are just $25, and there will be fashions by Bloomingdeals, raffles and door prizes. For reservations and information, call Marie Argana at (772) 485-5743.
Hospice says thanks
Cynthia Warren of Treasure Coast Hospices has asked Star Tracks to tell you about a very special event taking place from 5-7 p.m. on Nov 1. Harrington, Carol Pendleton, Tecia Shaw, Agnes Anderson Weeks and Leta Williams. There will also be a special tribute honoring Diane Stafford-Mayes. To round out the evening, a new Board of Directors will be introduced and the outgoing Board will be recognized for their contributions. For information, call Anne Marie Davidson at (772) 403-4406.
